Also, if you don't already know, she will be making a special announcement (not movie news) at the August 4th signing in NYC, and I will be in attendance. I will be streaming the event live here on BlogTV. You can follow my channel to get a reminder about the event before it starts. The event itself starts at 7 PM ET, and I will start the broadcast at 6:45, just to make sure that everything is in working order. I'm confident that it will work this time, since the signing is at Barnes and Noble and not in a park.
Even if you go to the UStream chat beforehand at 5PM, the BlogTV will cover things that don't get covered on UStream, since the live Q&A from the audience will probably be quite different from the one on the chat. Hope to see a lot of you there!
Some of you may or may not know about the new Mortal Instruments Examiner. It is written by Natalie C. Markey, who recently contacted me about setting up an interview, since she is planning on spotlighting several fan sites between now and the release of Clockwork Angel. Of course I said yes!
You should definitely check it out, because it is a really awesome way to get the word out there about the series--both the books and the upcoming movies. You can read her article about Mundie Source, or go straight to all of the articles about TMI thus far.
I'd like to thank my lovely judges! Devyn, Michael, Marcy, and last-minute-add-in Amy.
And an especially big thank you to Cassie for choosing our winners and breaking our ten-way tie.
If you're one of the winners, please e-mail ASHLEY at MUNDIESOURCE dot NET by the end of the week and tell me your UNISEX t-shirt size and what "team" you want your shirt to proclaim (and also any text preference you have--script-y, shadowy, fancy, etc.). Also include your address, please.

In order to bring you faster results, I have replaced the missing judge (Sorry! ) and brought in another Super Awesome Fan who is acting as the fourth judge. She tried to keep up with the entries as they were coming in, so she has already read most of them and should be able to get me her Top Five by the end of the night. Afterwards, I'll put hers with the rest of us and we'll figure out whether or not a second round is necessary.
So, by the end of the night, we should have a winner! In theory...
As for the site (which is still painfully lacking and mismatched in some areas), I will be able to finish it after this week. My new computer is currently under "being manufactured" status online, and is expected to ship later this week. Why does this matter, you ask? Because I need Photoshop in order to finish most of the things that are incomplete, and to shrink down some of the fan art that I've received.
Just wanted to post to let you know that the ARC Contest of Clockwork Angel is closed and the judges are in the process of submitting their Top Five. Thank you to everyone who entered! It has been so entertaining to read/watch/look at all of the entries, and I hope that I can have another awesome contest sometime in the future.
Right now, three of the four judges have submitted their lists and there is no clear winner. In fact, there is a six way tie. As I said before, we need a top five for the other prizes, but it's up to that last judge to break it (though don't worry, she doesn't know who the tie is between). If not, we may need to have a lightening round where a select few complete another challenge in order to win.
But I may just be speaking prematurely. I'll post as soon as I know the results!
I know that most of you are here for the ARC contest, so I'll try to make my intro short and sweet. I had hoped to have everything up and running by right now, but my laptop died (like, literally) during the week and I no longer have Photoshop or the image capabilities that I had before. So while I needed to edit a crapton of fan art and new character photos, fill in the new character bios, &c., I couldn't because of this tragic loss. (Okay, so maybe it's only tragic to me). However, I got as much as I could without my computer, so here it is.
Onwards to the ARC Contest!
The rules are quite simple: 1. You may only enter once. 2. Play nice.
The ARC Contest for Clockwork Angel will be open for one week. Submissions will be accepted from today, June 5, until Saturday, June 12 at 11:59 PM ET. Any submissions received after that will most likely be seen, but they will not be counted toward the contest.
What do I have to do? We all have characters we love. We all have characters we love to hate. I want you to proclaim this passion to any character in any way you choose. Write a letter or poem, make a video, dress up and take pictures of yourself sulking and writing their name a thousand times. Be creative! Pretend you are truly telling this person that you love them (or loathe them!) and don't be afraid of rejection. For example, if I were entering the contest, I'd probably write an intense love letter to Magnus Bane, explaining that I know our relationship is impossible, but my love for him burns, still.
Do the characters have to be from Clockwork Angel? I want to write to Jace! You can proclaim your devotion to any character your heart desires, even Hodge.
Is this contest open to international fans? YES.
How will the contest be judged? I and my fellow Glamourcast cohosts will be judging entries. We won't talk about them at all--we'll each choose a top five. From there, we'll compare notes and talk it out.
Are there any other prizes, or just the ARC? There is the ARC of Clockwork Angel as the top prize, and a few other small MundieSource / TMI-related prizes for the runners up.
How do I submit my entry? If it's just a love letter, you copy and paste it right into the comment box of this news entry. If it's a photo, you upload it to your own server (or Photo Bucket) and post the link in a comment [Note: Don't post the image because it'll slow people's computers down to load a ton of images. We will see everything.]. If it's a video, pop it up on YouTube and post the link in the comments. It's that easy! If it's something else... well... Post a comment and I'll get back to you.
So that's that! Ready, set, GO! You have one week.
Click READ MORE for an exclusive interview with CASSANDRA CLARE!
Tonight during the Mundie Moms chat with Cassandra Clare, she gave us a peek at the super-awesome character sketches for Jace. The artwork is by Nicole Virella.
There will also be a free first chapter of the City of Bones adaptation in this year's Free Comic Book Day comic. More info on that is here. Michael DiVito, who was present in the chat, said that you may be able to go to your local comic book store and reserve a copy now. The event itself will take place on May 1st.
Remember the time we all voted for City of Ashes in the Teens' Top Ten? Well, the results are in and City of Ashes placed fourth.
In first place was Paper Towns by John Green, second was Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer, and third was The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Snaps to that! Who doesn't love John Green?
Hi, all! Sorry I haven't been around... I've been sick. I swear I have the worst immune system at this time of the year--when the season changes, I always get so ill!
Anyway, Cassie just sent out info about this awesome Etsy shop that has really gorgeous rune jewelry for purchase. It's absolutely amazing--there's the Morgenstern ring, a fearless rune pendant, a leather wrist cuff and more! Check it out.
Sorry again for being so MIA! I've been MIA from everything... I missed so much work because of this and it sucks, but I'm on the mend and should be okay soon. This is a good thing because I'm going to New York City next weekend! Woo!
